Brand identity creation for landscape designer, artist and 2011 RHS Young Designer of the Year Daniela Coray.
Not only did the identity have to work on printed literature and the web, but also on vehicles and safety clothing during the construction phase of landscaping.
As Daniela’s expertise covered a broad spectrum of design from small town gardens to large urban spaces, a plant-based graphic route was felt to be innapropriate as it would be too defining. Therefore a simple yet elegant typographic identity was created with a clever use of letterforms to create the initials of her title. This was delicate enough to work well alongside prospective show gardens but also had impact when displayed on workwear at the construction site. A natural colour palette was chosen with the added interest of a bright orange to give a modern feel to the style.

David has a number of rare combinations – exceptional talent yet a really open and collaborative attitude, and great design flair combined with a great grasp of commercial truths. Highly recommended and a pleasure to work with.

We’d readily suggest David for anyone looking to create a smart, useable and above all professional identity and website. He understood and interpreted our brief from the off, making an easy-to-navigate site that accurately reflected both my design style and my business message. Highly recommended.

Just who am I, exactly?
This is the portfolio of me, David Webb, a senior freelance graphic designer based in Bristol, England.
Trained at Falmouth College of Arts with a specialism in typography, and with over a decade of experience in graphic design and advertising, I work hard to produce solid graphic design solutions. From branding to websites, exhibition graphics to packaging, I thrive on new challenges – both on and off-line – and work to deadline and on budget. I even enjoy working on a good ol’ pitch every once in a while.
Until recently I was Head of Design at Mason Zimbler, one of the largest advertising agencies in the South-West. I worked on projects for clients such as Toshiba, SAS, Microsoft, Google and Adobe before leaving to undertake an epic year-long round-the-world trip. I experienced 16 countries in 4 continents, many fascinating cultures, a few slightly dangerous situations and some meals I’d rather not talk about, before returning home to Bristol in September to get down to some design work.
If you’re looking for a trusty freelancer, have a job that needs designing, or just want to swap travel stories, why not drop me a line?
In return, I promise not to start every sentence with “When I was in…”
